Afridi declared Amir against Rohit’s discouraging comments for Muhammad Amir
Pakistan national cricket team captain Shahid Afridi did not agree with Indian batsman Rohit Sharma’s comments on Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir and said Amir’s name is already among the top bowlers.
Rohit Sharma had previously said that Mohammad Amir was just a common bowler with ordinary skills and people praise him for nothing.
“There is just so much hype around him; I don’t think it is right to provide him too much hype after one match. He is great but he needs to confirm it over and over again. Now individuals are evaluating him to Wasim Akram and all that. He is just a regular bowler, on that given day if he is great, he is great. It is not as if he appears and strikes everyone away”, Sharma had said.
While talking to media, Shahid Afridi said, “Now if he (Rohit) has said something like that, you have to ask him. For me, Mohammad Amir is the best.”
“The way he has been executing, like how he has conducted in previous times, his name is there among the top worldwide bowlers,” the Pakistani skipper included.
It should be observed that Virat Kohli had known as Mohammad Amir as a “world outclass bowler” before the Asia Cup 2016.
Pakistan gets started with their world T20 2016 strategy against Bangladesh on 16th March and will play against its traditional and political rival India on 19th March. Both matches will be held at Eden Gardens Calcutta.
