India steals thriller against England, 2nd T20 2017 Analysis

Finally, India comes back in the T20 series after stealing the second T20 game against England in the last over of the match. It was England winning at the start of the game. It was England winning in the middle period of the game, but then the tables were turned in the last four overs by India.

The hosts won the toss and batted first. Indian made a change on their side. Chahal was changed with Mishra which people instantly voted after the first encounter which India lost. Mishra should have been in place of Chahal in the opening game as well, as per the fans.

Indian once again did not change anything in their batting. Virat Kohli went as an opener again with KL Rahul. India did get off to a flying start with Kohli bashing the English bowler in the first few overs, but then he was held in the deep of Jordan. Dawson took this catch at long on.

Rahul batted well. There was a lot of criticism made on his selection. He has not made many runs in the short format cricket since his debut. He has a hundred to his name in T20 cricket made against West Indies. Here he got 71 runs and gave India a good start from one end.

The middle order collapsed for India once again. It was meant to happen as per some experts. Kohli, going in as an opener weakens the Indian middle order. They play in bits and pieces in the middle overs. In the opening game, it was Raina who made 34 runs. This time it was Panday who got 30.

Raina and Yuvraj could not get much in the middle. Yuvraj Singh faced the second failure in two games, and he will be under pressure to perform now. Panday and Rahul held the innings together in the middle overs. The finishing from India was no special. They only made 144 runs. England was excellent in the death overs.

At the moment it seemed that England would take this one easily as the first game. But Indian bowling was really good. Nehra took both the openers Roy and Billings out early. Then Mishra got the big wicket of English Captain Morgan. Stokes was bowled first ball by Mishra, and it turned out to be a bog no ball.

Mishra has this habit of bowling no balls. India got some hammering from Stokes and Root. Stokes, in particular, start the on slot back in India. Till the 16th over of the game, England was sailing home with all the ease in the world. Then Nehra in the 17th over got Stokes. From there onwards it was India, India, and India. The hosts bowled three remarkable overs. Nehra was hammered for 16 runs in the 19th over by Buttler. England sparked with a chance after that, but then the young pacer Bumrah defied all the English dreams of winning the game and series. He saved eight runs in the final over and took the wickets of Root and Buttler as well.
