We want to help the government, but they should also come forward – Khurshid Shah

Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah has said the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) does not want to take to the streets, but the government is pushing it to do so.

Talking to the media in Islamabad after a meeting with Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid on Monday, Shah said the PPP would decide the future course of action if the talks between the government and the opposition on the terms of reference (ToRs) for a judicial commission on Panama leaks remain inconclusive.

“We want to help the government, but they should also come forward. It will be in the interest of the prime minister to accept the ToRs proposed by the opposition parties,” he said. He said the PPP leadership had been facing accountability for decades. He said the government had failed to provide relief to the people. He said that power loadshedding had become unbearable. He said the government could not dodge everything by labelling it a conspiracy.
